PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonlinearity detecting method and device of IL characteristics of a laser diode capable of detecting the nonlinearity of IL characteristics at the time of real operation.;SOLUTION: Under transmission of the light signal emitted from a laser diode, the nonlinearity of IL characteristics of the laser diode which becomes nonlinear at the time of exceeding a threshold is detected in such a way that the bias current of the laser diode, the average optical output after changing modulation current, the bias current and the average optical output before changing modulation current may be compared with each other, and thus the above nonlinearity of IL characteristics is detected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
