PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an alignment film for a liquid crystal device having high alignment regulating force and to enhance heat resistance of a liquid crystal device.;SOLUTION: The alignment films 15 and 25 have high heat resistance since the alignment layers are constituted of an inorganic material. Since the alignment films 15 and 25 have 29 to 70% voided fraction and thereby have high alignment regulating force, a repellent of a liquid crystal is not generated and liquid crystal alignability is maintained even when a liquid crystal display 10 is heated and the temperature of a liquid crystal layer 31 is elevated.
