PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for promotion of efficiency and miniaturization for a super-magnetostrictive actuator by a comparatively simple means.;SOLUTION: A super-magnetostrictive element 6, a coil 7 providing the super-magnetostrictive element with a magnetic field variation, a spring 4 for applying compressive load to the super-magnetostrictive element, and magnets 51 and 52 applying a bias magnetic field to the super-magnetostrictive element are housed in a case 1. The base end of the super-magnetostrictive element is positioned in the case, and a movable rod 2 is connected to a free end, and a spring 4 is arranged between the movable rod and the case, in the super-magnetostrictive actuator.
