PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting polymorphism of TNFα, which diagnoses digestive diseases by preventive medicine and excellently diagnoses diseases followed by inflammations of the stomach and the duodenum such as especially gastritis, stomach ulcer, duodenal ulcer, stomach polyp, stomach cancer, etc., by preventive medicine. PSOLUTION: The method for judging possibility of morbidity of digestive diseases is a method for judging whether a specimen has a digestive disease or an occurrence factor and comprises extracting a nucleic acid sample from a specimen and detecting polymorphism existing in a promoter region of TNF-α gene contained in the nucleic acid sample.
