Method for isolating and purifying sheep hyaluronidase

The disclosure relates to a process for preparing a hyaluronidase preparation suitable for pharmaceutical applications. In a preferred embodiment, the process includes the use of viral filtration steps to increase the purity of the final product. The process provides a method that enhances the purity of hyaluronidase preparations presently available in commerce. The methods are preferably used to purify hyaluronidase from mammalian sources. In an alternative embodiment, the methods disclosed can be used to purify recombinant hyaluronidase.
