PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate vehicle's escape from a wheel rut in active braking and a front wheel steering system for an automobile.;SOLUTION: This vehicle control system includes: an active steering system 10 including a steered wheel 12 for regulating the steering angle. The system 10 includes a steering wheel 16 for generating a driver input control angle, and further includes a control device configuration part 18 and a sensor configuration part 60. These configuration parts are connected to each other so that the control device configuration part 18 selectively changes the steering angles 20, 21 according to a driver input control angle. The steering angle 20 regulates a vehicle yaw assumed when the steered wheel does not slip on the contact surface. The vehicle control system includes a braking system constructed to brake a selected wheel. The control device 18 determines whether or not the vehicle is in the rut at least on the basis of the assumed vehicle yaw and the actual yaw angle, and generates a braking signal for applying larger braking to the first side wheel of the vehicle than the second side one in order to increase the actual yaw angle.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
