PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoreaction device capable of solving troubles due to bubbles generated within the device and those due to contamination of the surface of the electrodes of the electrochemical detector and a water quality monitoring device having excellent long-term stability.;SOLUTION: Generation of bubbles is controlled by arranging a photoreaction tube 1 so as to penetrate the inside of a lamp 2 concentrically, arranging a gas-penetrable tube 3 so as to penetrate the inside of the photoreaction tube 1 concentrically and reducing the pressure inside or outside the gas-penetrable tube 3 to degas. Contamination of electrodes 15, 16 and 17 is controlled by arranging a photoreaction tube 1 so as to penetrate the inside of the lamp 2 concentrically and arranging a photoreaction tube 1 for electrochemical detection embedded with the electrodes 15, 16 and 17 to keep the electrodes at a position to be irradiated with UV light from the lamp 2 so as to decompose and remove adherent contaminants rapidly.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
