PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car navigation system capable of reducing power consumption by reducing antenna wiring and a circuit scale by integrating a GPS and a VICS receiver and making a plurality of signals receivable and also evading the simultaneous usage or simultaneously stopping depending on the situation.;SOLUTION: The navigation system comprises: a down converter IC 50 connected with the GPS/VICS integrated antenna 1; an optical transmission/reception part 17 connected with the optical antenna 2; a control part 20; a car navigation control part 30; and moreover a GPS/VICS switch 6 in the down converter IC 50 for switching the signal by the control part 20 when the car navigation control part 30 detects the traffic jam for evading the simultaneous use as well as simultaneous stopping depending on the situation for reducing the power consumption.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
