PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drain hopper for a hot water storage water heater, preventing expanded water from spilling on a floor even when the drain hopper is tiltedly installed or the expanded water forcedly runs out of an escaping port.;SOLUTION: A bottomed cylindrical insect screen 9 having an opening portion (a slit 10) is provided on a hopper portion 5 of the drain hopper for the hot water storage water heater. Even when the hopper portion is tiltedly installed the expanded water from the drain port 4 is drained into a cylindrical rising wall (a partition plate) of the insect screen 9. Therefore the water does not flow over the floor. Even when the expanded water forcedly runs out of the drain port 4, it similarly splashes within the rising wall, the water does not stain the floor by splashing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
