PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer cylinder jointing method of a diesel engine glow plug and of a ceramic heating element capable of solving prior art problems such as an improvement of the degree of coaxial property between the ceramic heater and the outer cylinder.;SOLUTION: In a diesel engine glow plug where a ceramic heater 1 is held in a metal housing through an outer cylinder 3, a guide groove 3a having a larger diameter than a cylinder internal size is formed at a supply side end of a brazing material 45 of the outer cylinder 3, and a brazing material 45 is filled in the guide groove 3a. Accordingly, in a jointing process thereof the ceramic heater 1 and the outer cylinder 3 are brought into a coaxial arrangement with the aid of a holding action by the brazing material 45 filled in the guide groove 45a as much as possible to improve durability of power supply.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
