PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line and a method for manufacturing a steel member with a steel tube as a stock. PSOLUTION: In a steel tube manufacturing line wherein a steel tube is manufactured by cutting, forming and welding a steel sheet, and further the steel tube is processed, there are provided a cutting machine for cutting the steel sheet to a given size, a forming machine for forming the cut steel sheet into an open tube by sheet rolling, a laser beam welder for manufacturing a steel tube by welding the butting portions of the formed open tube, a lubricant coating machine for coating the welded steel tube with a lubricant for processing, and a processing machine for bending the lubricant-coated steel tube or performing other process such as pressing, or a hydroforming processing machine for transforming the steel tube by giving a liquid pressure to the inside of the steel tube.
