PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoide cases wherein a monitored object which needs to be monitored is not monitored owing to user's carelessness such as neglect of setting a monitor mode. ;SOLUTION: A terminal device 3 which sets the monitor mode stores current position information on the monitored object in a storage part 37 and a position detection sensor 38 detects current position information of the terminal device 3. A control part 32 computes the distance between the monitored object and terminal device 3 according to both the pieces of current position information. When the distance is longer than a threshold, the control part 32 judges that the user who carries the terminal device 3 is far away from the monitored object and inquires the current monitor mode of a monitor device 1 or monitor center 2. When the current monitor mode is OFF, i.e., monitoring is unnecessary, the control part 32 judges that the user forgets to set the monitor mode ON and makes a display part 34 and/or a speaker 35 output an alarm.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
