PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commodity dialog screen data generation device which enables an order-placing person to more simply and efficiently designate the specifications of commodities without any errors even if the commodities are abundant in kind and variation and their specifications depend on each other. PSOLUTION: Commodity-related data is composed of; specification information which is identified with unique specification IDs and describes an individual specification with two attributes, that is, the name of the specifications and a unit; commodity information which is identified with unique commodity IDs and describes an individual commodity with the description of a specification ID and a specification value; and structure definition information which is information defining the structure of information necessary for the automatic generation of a dialog screen relating to the commodity, the structure definition information being identified with unique structure definition IDs and describing the kind of at least one specification relating to one dialog screen with a specification ID list. In addition, the specification IDs described in the structure definition information can include the roles of the specifications relating to the control specifications or display mode of the dialog screen.
