PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition producible at a low cost and giving a clear and colorless coating film containing amorphous titanium oxide and resistant to cracking, a coating film produced by using the composition and use of the film.;SOLUTION: The coating composition for forming an amorphous titanium oxide composite coating film has a crystallization resistance of ≤100 cps and a light transmission of ≥90% in the wavelength range of 400-800 nm in the form of a coating film having a thickness of 400-550 nm and formed on a glass plate having a light transmittance of ≥90%. The crystallization resistance is calculated from the difference of net X-ray diffraction intensity values at 2θ=25.5° before and after immersing a coating film formed on a silicon wafer in warm water according to the formula (i): crystallization resistance = [difference of net X-ray diffraction intensity values (cps)]/[(titanium atom (mol) in the amorphous titanium oxide)/(titanium atom (mol) in the amorphous titanium oxide + metal atom (mol) in a foreign metal compound)].
