PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic zoom device for executing a variable continuous zoom operation, and for generating a large-scaled static image by using a conventional electronic zoom circuit for the video signal converter of a television. SOLUTION: This electronic zoom device is provided with a memory reading part 2 for reading images by each divided strip from an image recording memory 1, data width managing part 41 for managing the shortest width of the data width, discriminating part 42 for obtaining the connected part valid point between the strips, and for calculating a valid point coefficient offset value, and data recording part 43 for storing the extracted data width and valid point coefficient offset value. Then, a control value is outputted from a coefficient offset instructing part 4 to an electronic zoom coefficient calculating part 3 based on the data of the data recording part 43, and image connection is operated on a display size memory 9.
