PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compound, excellent in luminous sensitivity, durability and environmental characteristics as a photoelectric material and having a new crystal form and to provide a photoreceptor comprising the same by including a specific silicon phthalocyanine compound therein. ;SOLUTION: This silicon phthalocyanine compound comprises a dimerized dihydroxysilicon phthalocyanine compound represented by the formula [X1 to X8 are each fluorine, chlorine, bromine or iodine; (a) to (h) are each 0-4] and preferably having peaks at 6.9, 8,6, 10.6, 16.0, 26.3 and 27.4° Bragg angles 2θ (π0.3°) in an X-ray diffraction spectrum. The compound is preferably obtained by heating, e.g. 1,3-diiminoisoindoline or phthalodinitrile and silicon tetrachloride in a solvent, then filtering, washing and purifying the reactional product, heat- treating the resultant dichlorosilicon phthalocyanine compound and a compound prepared by treating the compound with an alkali in a high-boiling solvent and subsequently treating the prepared compound with an alkali.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
