PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design support system allowing efficient and easy progress in design of an electronic device.;SOLUTION: When composing the design support system for predicting analysis time and analysis accuracy when analyzing characteristics of the electronic device based upon an analysis model created by virtually dividing the electronic device into a plurality of two-dimensional meshes or three-dimensional meshes, a database is prepared storing information relevant to a correspondence relationship between a calculation scale when analyzing the characteristics and performance concerning a plurality of types of computers, and information relevant to a correspondence relationship between the number of times of division and the analysis accuracy when analyzing the characteristics. After calculating a calculation scale in the analysis model by using structural design data of the electronic device, the number of times of division in creating the analysis model, and information specifying the dimension of meshes, the calculation scale, the number of times of division used to determine the calculation scale, and performance of a computer to be actually used in analysis are compared with contents of the database to carry out prediction of the analysis time and analysis accuracy.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
