PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new antidepressant/antianxiety agent having high inhibitory activity against phosphodiesterase IV isozyme(PDEIV).;SOLUTION: This new antidepressant/antianxiety agent comprises as the active ingredient an isoquinoline derivative of the general formula (wherein, R is an ethoxy group) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
