The compound for topical application to treat skin, nail or hair problems, containing between 0.1 and 10 per cent alcohol, is made with preferably 10 - 18 per cent by weight of essential oils, extracts or macerations of plants in the lentibulariaceae and labiatae families. The plants of the lentibulariaceae family include varieties of Pinguicula, Utricularia and Genlisea, and especially Pinguicula vulgaris (butterwort), while those of the labiatae family include patchouli, rosemary, lavender, thyme and sage, with preferred use of Satureia montana (winter savory) macerated in an alcohol such as ethanol or a mixture of ethanol and water. The compound can contain essential oils, extracts or macerations from other plants, flower and herbs.
