The present invention relates to peptide compounds which are erythropoietin receptor (EPO-R) agonists. The invention also relates to therapeutic methods using such peptide compounds to treat disorders associated with insufficient or deficient production of red blood cells. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising the peptide compounds of the invention are also provided.
