"COMPOSITE FOR AN ANIMAL VACCINATION, NUCLEIC ACID MOLLECLE, EXPRESSION VECTOR, HOST CELL, VACCINE, PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION, METHODS FOR IMMUNIZING AN ANIMAL AGAINST, ANIMAL, BUTTER USE TO MANUFACTURE COMPOUND AND NUCLEIC ACID, AND TO DETERMINE IF AN ANIMAL HAS BEEN MANAGED WITH A COMPOUND, PARTS KIT, AND METHOD FOR VACCINATING AN ANIMAL ". A compound for vaccinating an animal comprising (i) a moiety that selectively binds to a dendritic cell in the animal but which does not occur naturally in the animal and (ii) an antigen. Typically, the selectively binding moiety as said binds to DC-SIGN. The portion may be HIV-1 gp 120. The compound of the invention may be used to vaccinate animals and following vaccination they may be distinguished from naturally infected animals.
