In the present invention, there is described the hemisulfate salt of (1S,4R)- cis-4-[2-amino-6-(cyclopropylamino)-9H-purin-9-yl]-2-cyclopentene-1-methanol or a solvate thereof. Also described are preparative routes and starting compounds for making such hemisulfate salt as well as pharmaceutical composition in which the salt is comprised. The invented hemisulfate salt is useful in medicine, particularly in the treatment of viral infections.
