A process for the preparation of a novel ceramic material having the composition Ba-Ti02 -Nb205/ useful for microwave dielectric application which comprises, (a) mixing oxides or carbonates of Barium, Niobium and Titanium dioxide, (b) grinding the mixture thoroughly to form a uniform reaction mixture, (c) calcining the resultant mixture in a crucible at a temperature in the range of 1000 to 1200°C, (d) cooling the reaction mixture, (e) grinding & compacting the resultant product to form powder, (f) sintering the resultant at a temperature in the range of 1200 to 1260°C.
