An improved gaseous fuel storage system (10) for motor vehicles running on gaseous fuel or liquid and gaseous fuels comprising of a plurality of gas cylinders (11,12) mounted one over the other, the lower gas cylinder (12) being of larger diameter than the upper gas cylinder (11), the said lower cylinder mounted on a bracket (13) provided inside the boot space/dicky (4) of the vehicle and the said upper cylinder (11) being clamped (14) to the said lower cylinder (12) the said cylinder being mounted across the dicky thereby providing more clear space (D4) behind the said gas cylinders in the dicky for luggage.
