The material layer (6) application on the disk-shaped substrate (1) is applied using a material spray mouthpiece (2). The inner contour of the sprayed material (3) determines the inner radius of the material layer (6) and this inner radius (5) is one of the quality parameters measured. The application process occurs with the high speed rotation of the substrate to ensure distribution of the material on its surface. An outermost edge part of the material layer is removed by spraying a removal medium, so that the material layer acquires an outer radius on the substrate. This outer radius is one of the quality parameters measured. The position of the material spray mouthpiece in relation to the substrate is controlled. The material layer is an organic dye, subsequently covered with a metal layer, mostly silver.
