The unit (2) has an octagonal plan with alternating short (8a-8d) and long sides (6a-6d) formed by frames comprising vertical posts (12a-12h) extending between the ends of horizontal beams (14a-14d). The short sides form the corners of the unit and have a length which is half that of the long sides, the latter comprising an upper long horizontal beam (22a), a pair of lower short horizontal beams (14a-14d) with a length half that of the long beam, a central post and two side posts. The top ends of the posts in the short side frames are connected to the bottom ends of two slanting auxiliary beams (26a1, 26a2, 26b1, 26b2) and the top ends of these two auxiliary beams are joined together. Horizontal roof beams (32b, 32d) with the same length as the long beams in the frames extend between the points where these pairs of auxiliary beams meet. The ends of the posts and beams are pointed so that they fit together in a form-fit manner. Wall panels are mounted in the f! rames.
