TECHNIQUE FOR TREATING HUGE POSTOPERATIVE VENTRAL HERNIA

The technique for treating the huge postoperative ventral hernia comprises the separation of the hernial sac and the disengagement of the adhesions between the walls of the sac and the hernial content, the placement of the alloprosthesis and its fixation throughout the whole defect without stretching the edges of the hernial gates. The polypropylene mesh is used as the allograft, which is located on the omentum, the peritoneum, and the flaps of hernial sac sewed up together. The allograft is fixed by dublicature around the hernial gates.
