METHOD FOR ASSESSING EXTERIOR AND PHYSIOLOGIC STATUS OF PIGLETS

The method for assessing the exterior and the physiologic status of the piglets comprises the measurement of crest height to body length ratio, the live body mass, the assessment of the suction reflex and statolocomotor acts, the state of skin and mucosa, the blood examination. The prenatal development is scored by ten-point scale with the particular emphasis paid to the exterior and the physiologic status of the piglets. The sum of the point amounting to 10 suggests high viability of the piglets.
