The pulp is comminuted into smaller pieces using an attachment located outside the screw turns (D) and rotating in the opposite direction to the screw (C). A method for treating a high consistency pulp with a fibre concentration of ca. 25-45 % solids content comprises transporting the pulp to a subsequent treatment step using a screw conveyor.
