The nut has a body (1), and a bore (2) provided with a thread (3) on all or part of the bore, so as to cooperate with the thread of a screw (4). A recess (5) opens into the bore, and a locking piece (6) is received in the recess. The locking piece is intended to move from a position in which the locking piece is not supported on the screw when the nut is rotated in a tightening direction to another position in which the locking piece rests on the bottom of the recess and the screw, for locking the nut on the screw when the nut is rotated in an opposite direction of tightening of the screw.
