SUPERLOCK machinery adhesives from Devcon are suitable for locking and sealing nuts, screws, studs, and bolts. They do not require primers, exhibit capillary action and gap-filling, cure rapidly, and are chemical-and corrosion -resistant, according to the company. They can be used on inactive and active surfaces. Screw lock grade 2222 is a low-strength thread locker for spiral screws less than 1/4 in. in diameter. It prevents loosening caused by vibration. Nut lock grade 2242 is a general-purpose, medium-strength thread locker for nuts, bolts, and screws up to 3/4 in. It is intended for mounting bolts, bearing cover cap screws, and machine tool access bolts.
