COMPLEX OXIDES, OXIDE-ION CONDUCTORS, OXIDE-ION CONDUCTING FILMS AND ELECTROCHEMICAL CELLS

The present invention provides a novel complex oxide applicable as anoxide-ion conductor. The complex oxide according to the present inventionhas a basic composition of (Sm1-x A x)(Al1-y B y)O3. In the formula, "A"representsone or more element selected from the group consisting of barium, strontiumand calcium; "B" represents an element selected from the group consisting ofmagnesium, iron and coba x=0.15 to 0.30; and y=0 to 0.30. The complexoxides of the present invention display improved values of electricalconductivity compared to Sm0.9Ca0.1AlO3, a prior art complex oxide.
