The present invention refers to an outwardly solid or completely solid ( ordesigned to be orally ingested)composition of tetrodotoxin and/or analogs orderivatives thereof. The tetrodotoxin present in this composition can be inthe form of a racemate, as a mixture of stereoisomers or as a purestereoisomer. The composition can be in the form of a tablet, a capsule, adrop or a dragee. It can comprise a gastroenteric coating and be formulated asan immediate release formulation or as a controlled release formulation. Thetetrodotoxin composition is used for the treatment of pain.
