The invention relates to a device for connecting a wear part to the support thereofon material-handling devices for heavy-construction machinery. The inventionis characterised in that a key (C) is axially aligned with a sleeve (F) which isdisposed in part of an adapter (A). According to the invention, the key is equippedwith an end part (C2), known as the key foot, and a key head (C5) which are providedon either side of a body (C1). The key head is arranged with one part (C5) formingan off-centre projection. The key foot comprises anchoring means that can temporarilypenetrate the elastically-deformable sleeve. As the key rotates, it becomesmisaligned with the initial axis thereof and is clamped tightly either in thesleeve by means of anchoring or against the metal parts of the prong and of the adapteron different support areas.
