A probe for diagnosing infectious diseases comprising DNA fragments prepared by digesting, with restriction enzyme HindIII, DNA of Pseudomonas aeruginosa belonged to causative bacteria of the infectious diseases, wherein:   said probe contains at least one sequence of the base sequences set out in SEQ. ID. Nos. 13 through 16, and specifically react with DNA of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
