The invention relates to a method for producing products from polymeric materials (11) in which strengthening supports (2, 2') provided in the form of cords or woven cords are embedded. According to the inventive method, the strengthening supports (2, 2') are firstly subjected to a directed temperature treatment, whereby the temperature treatment produces, inside the individual cords, a temperature gradient between the cord core and the cord surface, and the temperature difference between the cord core and the core surface is equal to at least 10 K. The polymeric material(s) (11) or the starting constituents thereof is/are applied to the strengthening supports (2, 2') by extrusion or casting. The invention also relates to a driving belt (10, 10') made of polymeric material (11), in which strengthening supports (2, 2') provided in the form of steel cords are embedded and which is produced according to the method.
