The invention relates to novel chemical compounds of general formulas (I) and (II), wherein X represents F, Cl, Br, I, weakly coordinating or non-coordinating anions, n represents a number between 1 and 4, R1 representing a compound of general formulas (III) or (IV) if n equals 1 or 2 while representing a compound of general formulas (III) or (IV) or an alkyl radical if n equals 3 or 4, Z1, Z2, Z3, Z4, and Z5 are selected among -F, -Cl, -I, -Br, -NO2, -RA, -O-RA, -S-RA, -COO-RA, -OC(O)-RA, and -N(RA)2, Z6, Z7, and Z8 are selected among N, C-Z1, and C-Z2, at least one of the atoms represented by Z6, Z7, Z8 representing N while RA represents H, an alkyl radical, a halogenated alkyl radical, or a compound of general formulas (III) and (IV), except for compounds of general formula (II), in which n represents 1 and R1 represents a compound of general formula (III), Z1, Z2, Z3, Z4, and Z5 representing H or Z1, Z3, and Z5 representing a methyl radical and Z2 as well as Z4 representing H. Also disclosed are methods for producing said novel chemical compounds and the use thereof as catalysts, particularly for partially oxygenating alkanes to alkanols while forming an alkyloxy ester.
