The method involves placing marks on a surface (5) of a traffic lane portion (4). Two video images of the portion are formed by respective video cameras (1, 2). Video signals representative of the video images are processed to form a stereoscopic video image. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing a method of calibrating of video images.
