A water clarification member prepared by a method comprising kneading a plastic material having a small specific gravity with a ceramic powder to provide a water clarification material, and forming the resultant material so as to have a great surface area and a high void percentage and to be free from mutual entanglement, to provide the member, is placed into a corrosion-resistant and water- passing metal vessel manufactured in an appropriate shape in correspondence to the place, where it is used, in an amount of about 70 % of the volume of the vessel, and then the vessel is sealed. The water clarification member included in the above water clarification apparatus is agitated by the flow of the water to be clarified and is contacted with the water satisfactorily, and as a result, the ceramic powder incorporated in the water clarification member forms a negative ion, a positive ion and a plasma cluster ion and also divides a water molecule cluster into finer clusters.
