PURPOSE: Provided is a functional food containing astaxanthin and polysaccharide extracted from mycelium of Phellinus sp. strain. The functional food increases immunity, and anticancer and antistress activities, and reduces serum cholesterol level. Therefore, it is used for prevention and treatment of diseases. CONSTITUTION: The functional food contains 40-60 wt.% of astaxanthin and 40-60 wt.% of polysaccharide extracted from mycelium of Phellinus sp. strain, as an active ingredient. The polysaccharide is galactomannoglucan.
