APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REMOVING THE ALGAE USING OZONATION

An apparatus and a method for removing algae using ozone are provided to effectively remove algae using ozone, wherein the algae are obstacle to coagulation/settling processes in a water purification plant and have an influence on clogging of a filter basin. As an algae removing apparatus for water purification system in which purification raw water sequentially passes through a mixing basin, a coagulation basin, a settling basin and a filter basin, an apparatus for removing algae using ozone comprises: an online chlorophyll-a measuring instrument(10) installed at one side of the grit chamber to measure a chlorophyll-a concentration of the purification raw water in real-time before purification raw water passing through a grit chamber flows into the mixing basin; an ozone injection amount controller(20) installed at one side of the online chlorophyll-a measuring instrument to calculate an ozone injection concentration and an ozone injection amount according to the measured chlorophyll-a concentration; and an ozonizer(30) installed at one side of the ozone injection amount controller to generate ozone and inject ozone into an ozone contact basin.
