SURGICAL METHOD FOR TREATING NEWBORNS FOR GASTROSCHISIS AND OMPHALOCELE

FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: method involves dilating anterior abdominal wall defect and removing umbilicus. After having removed the umbilicus, skin and subcutaneous fat are separated from anterior abdominal wall muscles by introducing 10-20 ml of 0.25% Novocain solution into subcutaneous fat. Tonic stretch of anterior abdominal wall muscles is applied for 2-3 min. Then, treated organs are immersed into the newly formed abdominal cavity. Alloplastic operation is carried out utilizing dura mater as allograft preserved in 0.5% formalin solution at +4°C during 1 month. The dura mater is sutured to aponeurosis with interrupted 10-20 capron sutures. Skin above the defect is tightly sutured and 10-15 0.7-0.8 cm long notches are made next to it.;EFFECT: prolong newborn survival period; reduced risk of postoperative complications; avoided vena cava syndrome occurrence.;2 dwg
