METHOD FOR CARRYING OUT AUTOPLASTIC FACE DEFECT REPAIR AFTER REMOVING MAXILLA ON ONE SIDE

FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: method involves taking VIII and IX ribs for producing autografts. Transverse grooves are prepared on external convex surface of horizontal autograft being the broadest and solid rib, for placing vertical autografts. The grooves are drills in their middles. The vertical autografts are set having openings at their ends. Lavsan threads are conducted through the openings, and tied on the internal autograft surfaces. The internal end of the horizontal autograft is imbedded into retained maxilla edge. The outer end of the horizontal autograft is connected to temporal bone and fixed with transosseous suture. Lower orbital wall being retained, the upper ends of the vertical autografts are attached to the lower orbital wall with transosseous suture, closing the defect from frontal side. No lower orbital wall being retained, horizontal upper split autograft is additionally included into the graft set. The autograft is fixed with transosseous suture together with the vertical autografts. The internal end of the split upper autograft is attached to frontal process of the retained maxilla portion or to nasal bone on healthy side. The outer end of the upper horizontal autograft is attached to zygomatic process of the temporal bone.;EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in repairing face shape, chewing function and speech.;3 cl, 5 dwg
