Separating solids, esp. coarse particles and agglomerates in absorbent circuits, preferably in emission reduction devices comprises feeding the absorbent into a run off shaft (8) with a screen (12). The separated and/or filtered off solids from the screen (12) are especially continuously removed. Also claimed is a device to carry out the above process having a discharge arrangement (22) on the screen (12), especially a screw conveyor (24).
