The separation device includes a separation housing (2) with a feed line (3) for supplying the solid containing wastewater, a first discharge line (4) for discharging wastewater cleaned of solids, and a second discharge line (5) for removal of the separated solids, with a rake (6) consisting of separated rods (7) in the separator housing for separating the solids from the wastewater. The rake (6) is inclined and extends across the inlet opening (40) of the first discharge line (4). The supply of wastewater is carried to the top of the rake. Over the top of the rake slide solids passing from the lower edge of the inlet opening (50) to the second transfer line (5).
