A process for the determination of the death of a time point with the aid of a tooth, comprising the steps of:a) performing a first colorimetric measurement on the tooth.b) mounting of the tooth in liquid, wherein the tooth with increasing liquid absorption to its colour values and to the spectral curve, takes place, which it had had of the living.c) subsequent successive drying of the tooth under of colorimetric measurements, up to the point in time, wherein the values of the values of the first measurement according to step a) have reached.d) determining the death of a time point by calculating back from the time of the first measurement in the past with the aid of the drying time determined in step c).
