The articulated mechanism for an adjustable section of a vehicle's roof has a connecting link (8) rotatably connected by respective ends to a first (6) and a second (7) pivoting arm. Each pivoting arm on its end opposite the connecting link is pivotably connected by a joint (6a,7a) to the roof section or to another part of the vehicle. In the closed position of the roof section the rotational axes of the joints coincide and form a common pivot axis (11) so that both pivoting arms and connecting links are rotatable around it. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a multi-articulated mechanism with two directly adjacent articulated mechanisms; (B) an adjustable roof section for a vehicle, equipped with an articulate mechanism in the left hand and right hand roof region; and (C) a hardtop roof for a vehicle with at least two roof sections connected by the aforesaid articulated mechanism.
