The motor vehicle's roof, adjustable between a closed position and a stowed position, can be adjusted by a mechanism fixed to the body of the vehicle and which includes a number of movable bows. The adjusting mechanism has two pivotably connected links which in the stowed position of the roof (1) are laid at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The lower link is pivotably connected to the body of the vehicle and the upper link to the roof.
