The inlet (35) of the stripping chamber (17) is preferably constructed in stages. It directs the flow of sweet mass tangentially against the inner wall (37) of the stripping chamber. The wall (37) in the stripping chamber is constructed for insulation or heating. This keeps the wall temperature above the condensation temperature of gaseous components arising from the sweet mass. The inlet (35) continues into the stripping chamber with a cylindrical tubular section (36). The bodily curvature of this section matches the shape of the chamber inner wall. The upper termination of the stripping chamber is an inverted funnel-shape (40), with a tangential outlet arrangement. The outlet (20) for gaseous components is located in the cover, outside the influx region (38).
