A mass transport system with reduced travel times and reduced energy losses has trains running non-stop, e.g. on continuous loops, and with the transfer of passengers and freight facilitated by loop lines running parallel to the main line to accelerate and retard transfer passengers and freight. The transfer vehicles are mechanically locked to the main trains during transfer. The transfer loops are approx 5 km long.
